It is amazing that in a short space of time, a few months during 2019, the Lytham St Annes Art Collection has been fortunate to benefit from the generosity of a few individuals who have joined our long list of donors.

Since 1925 when the Collection began with the presentation by John Booth of ‘The Herd Lassie’ by Richard Ansdell, many people have been moved to give artworks to our beautiful Collection and they continue to do so.

The most recent was received at the Town Hall during the latter half of August 2019 by Sophie Fuce, Collections Development Manager.

It had been sent by a very generous donor who lives in California, USA. We are so very pleased that, even though he lives in America, he decided that he wanted to give his work of art to our Collection. We are most grateful to him.

We have referred to this amazing Richard Ansdell sketch as The Three Crosses, for obvious reasons, but its title is El Calvario de Churriana.

More details of this gift will be released at a later date.
