Fylde Gallery

The Fylde Gallery at Booths, Haven Road, Lytham was home to themed exhibitions between July 2007 and August 2019, proving to be both an attractive and successful venue.

However, Fylde Borough Council, who are now working towards accreditation of the Collection, which remains housed in specialised storage in the Town Hall, St Annes, do not intend to utilise the Gallery for future exhibitions.

Booths, however, remain committed to using the gallery to support and champion local art. It will now be run on a commercial basis and helping to co-ordinate this will be Richard Marshall, a local artist, whose input was invaluable to the success of the Tagging the Treasures Project.

Please continue to enjoy looking  at the online catalogue and following us on Facebook:  Friends of the Lytham St Annes Art Collection, where individual paintings and relevant details are uploaded regularly.

The Herd Lassie painting by Richard Ansdell

The First Exhibition

Herd Lassie, the first picture to be donated to the Collection by John Booth in 1925, hung there on long term loan between 2007 and 2019 but has now been returned to the Town Hall.

The very first exhibition in the Gallery was of paintings by Richard Ansdell RA.

See list below of all the Exhibitions which have been staged in the Gallery containing items from the Collection.

Serving The Community

Booths, Fylde Borough Council and the Friends of Lytham St Annes Art Collection were anxious that this Gallery should be non-profit making and should serve the community.

This meant that as well as displays of the Collection, local art societies, community groups and individuals were able to display their work on a regular basis.
