Painted by Sheffield born artist, George Hamilton Constantine, 1878-1967, this delightful watercolour is typical of his work. We do not know the donor.

He was well known for his seascapes and rural landscapes with figures. His paintings often show views of Lancashire and Yorkshire and the Cornish coast. His rural pictures sometimes included the two horses which lived on the family farm near Sheffield.

A member of the Sheffield Society of Artists he exhibited at various galleries and institutions including the Royal Academy in 1916.
