This dramatic watercolour, Derelict Treales Mill, was painted by Rochdale born artist, Walter Eastwood 1867-1943.

It was donated to the Collection by the Lytham St Annes Art Society in 1937.

The artist came to reside in Lytham in 1902 and was a founder member of the Society and its first president.

He exhibited widely, notably at The Walker Gallery, The Royal Society of Artists and the Royal Cambrian Academy at Plas Mawr where this picture was exhibited in 1931. He is buried at St Cuthbert’s Church, Lytham.
