L’impatien. This appealing oil on canvas was painted by Italian artist, Andrea Landini,1847-1912.
He was known for his genre, portraits and still life. The specific genre of cardinal painting had widespread appeal with its humorous mockery of the lavish lifestyle popularly considered to be led by the cardinals.
The painting was a bequest of Dorothy Ward Mosedale, 1896-1970, in memory of her parents, Ward and Elizabeth Mosedale.
