The afternoon may have been grey and miserable but a warm welcome awaited the 60 members and Friends who attended this most enjoyable occasion, held in the Council Chambers at St. Annes Town Hall.
A glass of prosecco greeted guests who then had time to purchase raffle tickets, cards and calendars and catch up with friends before the main event commenced.
Committee member, Barbara Weston, presented a wonderful, illustrated talk full of interesting stories, often humorous, about the Collection, the artists and donors. One member remarked that not only did she present an illuminating talk but handled the technology with aplomb.
It was divided into two sessions allowing for a break for tea, coffee and delicious nibbles after which the raffle was drawn.
The whole event was so well received and pronounced a great success.
Barbara’s talks are now in demand as she is being invited to speak to various local clubs and societies, spreading the word about the Collection, very often to audiences who know little or nothing about the treasures members hold so dear.
